Wrath of Khan Director's New Star Trek Trilogy Is On Hold

Meyer directed <em>Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan</em> in 1982 and, even 36 years later, the film is still considered one of the best (if not <strong>the</strong> best) <em>Star Trek</em> moves ever made. He went on to cowrote <em>Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home</em> and direct <em>Star Trek IV: The Undiscovered Country</em> - two of the more beloved films featuring the Original Series cast - in the years that followed. For these reasons, Trekkies were excited when Meyer signed up to serve as a consulting producer on CBS All-Access' <a href="https://screenrant.com/tag/star-trek-discovery/"><em>Star Trek: Discovery</em></a>, back when Bryan Fuller was the showrunner.</p><p>About a year ago, Meyer revealed he was also <a href="https://screenrant.com/star-trek-movie-tv-show-nicholas-meyer/">working on a new <em>Star Trek</em> project</a> separate from <em>Discovery</em>. He didn't offer any details beyond that at the time, giving rise to rumors that Meyer was working on <a href="https://screenrant.com/star-trek-khan-tv-show/">a limited series about (who else?) Khan Noonien Singh</a>.
