Locke & Key Close to Series Order at Netflix, Pilot to Be Reshot

<img src="https://https://static2.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Locke-and-Key.jpg" /><p>Netflix is on the verge of officially picking up Carlton Cuse's <a href="https://screenrant.com/tag/locke-and-key/"><strong><em>Locke &amp; Key</em></strong></a> comic book TV show to series, but intends to reshoot its pilot episode. The current version of the <em>Locke &amp; Key</em> TV pilot was directed by <em>IT</em> helmsman Andy Muschietti and was <a href="https://screenrant.com/hulu-passes-locke-key-comic-book-tv-show/">originally made for Hulu</a>, before the company passed on the series earlier this year. Reports emerged last week that <a href="https://screenrant.com/locke-key-tv-show-netflix/">Netflix had either picked up <em>Locke &amp; Key</em> pilot</a> or was about to, marking the end of a long journey from the printed page to the small screen for Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez's cult supernatural horror comic book property.</p><p><em>Locke &amp; Key</em> first attempted to make the transition to TV in 2011, via a pilot that was made for Fox and even screened at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con, but was never actually picked up. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who produced the 2011 <em>Locke &amp; Key</em> TV pilot, were similarly unsuccessful in getting a <em>Locke &amp; Key</em> movie trilogy made in the years that followed, prior to Cuse setting to work on a new TV version.
