Netflix has announced that production has officially begun today on their new original film, The King. Cameras are rolling in the UK on the production which is expected to be released on the streaming service in 2019.

Lily-Rose Depp will step into the role of Princess Catherine with Sean Harris as William, Tom Glynn-Carney as Hotspur and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie as Philippa.

David Michôd (War Machine, Animal Kingdom) will be directing from a script he co-wrote with Edgerton.

Academy Award-winning Plan B will produce along with Porchlight Films’ Liz Watts (Animal Kingdom, The Rover), Edgerton and Michôd.
