The Last Jedi Comic Reveals Admiral Ackbar’s Final Words

And it's a strong send-off for the fan-favorite rebellion/resistance officer. The character may best be known for his meme-ified <em>"It's a trap!"</em> line from <em>Return of the Jedi</em>, but love for him is not just ironic. He's long-since become a major, beloved figure in <a href="https://screenrant.com/tag/star-wars/"><em>Star Wars</em></a> novels, comics, and other aspects of the expanded universe.</p><p>Ackbar's distinctive voice, appearance, and noble leadership made a triumphant return with cameos in J.J. Abrams' <a href="https://screenrant.com/tag/star-wars-7/"><em>The Force Awakens</em></a> and Rian Johnson's <em>The Last Jedi</em>. But unfortunately, the admiral met his end at the hands of a surprise attack on the bridge of the Resistance cruiser by Kylo Ren and the First Order. Even more unfortunately, his death happened off-screen, resulting in a mere mention with a single throwaway line. The decidedly unceremonious discarding of a popular character was one of many criticisms leveled at the endlessly polarizing <em>Last Jedi</em>.
