Taron Egerton stars in the first trailer for Lionsgate’s Robin Hood. The character of Robin Hood is one of the oldest and most well-known heroes from literature, and that’s led to quite a few interpretations of his story on the big screen. Disney turned the story into an animated fox adventure, while Hollywood stars like Cary Elwes, Kevin Costner, and Russell Crowe have each taken a shot at bringing him to life. Despite the several attempts, Errol Flynn’s portrayal in 1938’s The Adventures of Robin Hood is still viewed as the best.
Lionsgate is now giving rising movie star Taron Egerton the chance to play the iconic character. After successful turns in Kingsman and Eddie the Eagle, Egerton is eyeing what could be another franchise role if his Robin Hood can stand above the rest.
