Black Lightning is Arrested in ‘The Book of Crucifixion’ Trailer

SPOILERS for those not caught up on Black Lightning ahead.

Jefferson Pierce a.k.a. Black Lightning will be going to jail, based on the trailer for the upcoming episode “The Book of Crucifixion”. This is apparently the end result of recent events in the previous episode, “The Book of Redemption”, and revelations regarding just how Jefferson Pierce gained his powers.

A federal government project overseen by a shadowy group called The ASA was meant to develop a means of pacifying African-American populations. Freeland, Georgia – the setting of Black Lightning – was chosen as a testing site for a vaccine-based version of the pacifying agent, which instead awakened the metagene in several children… including a young Jefferson Pierce. Peter Gambi, Jefferson’s foster father, confessed to Jefferson that he had worked for The ASA and that his efforts to blow the whistle on the project ...
