Who will be the Destroyer of Worlds? That seems to be the key question behind Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s next episode, as both Daisy and Ruby take the next step towards their destinies.
The first half of Season 5 saw the S.H.I.E.L.D. team trapped in a dystopian future timeline. There, they learned that Daisy’s tremendous powers had cracked the planet like an egg. Daisy had become known as “Destroyer of Worlds,” hardly the inspiring title S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Inhuman hero hoped to achieve. S.H.I.E.L.D. are now back in the present day, and desperately attempting to change a future that seems increasingly inevitable. The last episode, “Rise and Shine”, saw Coulson learn of Hydra’s most sinister project yet. It bore the name “Destroyer of Worlds”.
